ประโยชน์ของแบตเตอรี่ โดยมากจะนำไปใช้งานอยู่ 3 แบบหลักๆ คือ
1. Standard Application or float service application
เพื่อใช้ในงานสำรองไฟฟ้าในกรณีไฟฟ้าขัดข้อง เช่น UPS , Inverter , Rectifier เป็นต้น
2. Motive Application
เพื่อใช้กับรถยนต์ , รถจักรยานยนต์ , ยานพาหนะ ต่างๆ
3. Starting Lighting Ignition (SLI) for automotive application
เพื่อช่วยในการจุด Start ระบบ
ประเภทของ Lead Acid Battery
1. แบบเปียก (Flood type)
2. แบบแห้ง (AGM , Gel) โดยแบ่งออกเป็น
- SLA (Sealed Lead Acid)
- VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid)
